plastidip is pretty clingy, and kind of shrinks to whatever its applied to. you could sand if you wanted to. and its recommended if you have any blemishes on the piece your painting. ( it WILL show thru the plastidip. same with pits and dings. the tiguan grill was still in perfect condition. so i didn’t sand. plus if you ever get tired and want to see the ugly chrome again.. you can just peal it all off. good as new.
